About KituBox

An ERP has to work when the internet doesn't.

Most ERP and POS software sold in Kenya assumes constant connectivity. Real retail and distribution businesses here don't have that: power blips, data that runs out mid-month, a shop in Kangundo that doesn't have the same uptime as an office in Westlands. A system that stops taking sales when the router drops isn't a system — it's a liability.

KituBox was built to close that gap.

The architecture

KituBox stores everything locally first — RxDB over IndexedDB in the browser, so the till, the ledger, and the customer list all work with zero connection. When two devices on the same premises are both offline, they sync directly to each other over WebRTC, with no server in the loop. Once a connection is available, everything reconciles to the cloud. KRA eTIMS submission is handled as its own async step — an invoice can be created, printed, and handed to a customer as “eTIMS-pending,” then reconciled with KRA the moment connectivity returns, rather than blocking the sale.

The outcome

Five apps — POS, ERP, HR, Payroll, and CRM — sharing one core sync engine. Live in production, sold through our certified partner network to real SMEs, SACCOs, and retailers. The ERP's VAT summary report flags exactly which invoices are still eTIMS-pending, so a business owner always knows their real compliance position, not just their sales position.

Who builds it

KituBox is designed, built, and maintained by Miano Software Solutions, a full-stack software, ERP, and KRA-compliance consultancy serving SMEs, SACCOs, retailers, and manufacturers across Kenya. KituBox is implemented in the field by our certified partner network, including Taxora Digital Solutions, a KRA eTIMS/TIMS integration specialist offering 2–5 day compliant setups.
